Automation Fair event attendees at a booth

Horizon Solutions attended the 2022 Rockwell Automation Fair Event on November 16th and 17th at Chicago McCormick Place. More than 100 suppliers including nVent-HOFFMAN, Stratus, ProSoft, Panduit, Brady Corporation, Hubbell, Eaton Bussmann, and LinMot attended as well to view and try Rockwell Automation’s selection of products and services.

Cybersecurity Operations Center

Rockwell Automation recreated its Cybersecurity Operations Center to demonstrate the value of OT Managed Services. Attendees watched in real-time as threat actors attempted to infiltrate the OT network of the Twinsburg, OH facility and witnessed in real-time as threat actors attempted to infiltrate the network. They experienced firsthand how Rockwell Automation’s cybersecurity analysts detected and mitigated cyberattacks.New technology at the 2022 Automation Fair Event

Going Virtual

Attendees stepped into the virtual world using Emulate3D’s industrial engineering software. They put on Oculus goggles and were immersed inside a shop floor where they could see and interact with an assembly line using iTrack, MagneMotion, and multiple FANUC robots. This was a great way to design, develop, and debug material handling systems.

Unveiling New Technology

Rockwell Automation showcased its new PowerFlex 755TS VFD with TotalFORCE technology. It’s designed for tough industrial motor control applications like mining, mineral processing, and 24-hour steel production environments and features real-time sensing and operational intelligence, predictive maintenance, and adaptive control.

Highlights From Some of Our Suppliers:

nVent HOFFMAN showcased its new user-friendly Cable Entry Systems. The new systems are tool-free and provide faster cable installation into enclosures. With a sealed entrance point for cables, it helps protect against dust, water, and vibration. There are also Cable Entry Gland Plates for enclosures that require a secure seal for cables with or without connectors. If you have an application in a confined space, then there is the Cable Entry Plate. They allow unassembled cables and hoses to be inserted into enclosures on a small surface, and there are three models: tool-free IP54 Cable Entry Plates, tool-free and screw-fixated IP66 Cable Entry Plates, and tool-free IP54 Cable Entry Round Plates.

Stratus showcased its Edge platforms, including the Stratus and Rockwell Automation (with help from Horizon Solutions) PlantPAx Solution-in-a-Box. The process control architecture that protects the DCS from unplanned downtime is common in unprotected computer and server-based architectures. The built-in virtualization of ztC Edge consolidates the PlantPAx software – normally installed in multiple computers – into one single redundant platform.
